Huxley Associates, a trading division of SThree Australia Pty Limited (referred to as "Huxley Associates", "us" or "our"), prides itself in being a leader in the recruitment industry. At Huxley Associates we take the collection, retention, use and disclosure of your personal information very seriously. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure that this is the case. Below we have detailed how we go about collecting and using your personal information, and our privacy practices.

Collecting and using your information
The categories of personal information that Huxley Associates collects includes:

Candidate information
If you are a person who has applied for a position ("candidate"), we will collect personal information from you and from other sources in connection with your application. Candidate information will include a candidate’s resume and information about a candidate’s work history, including a candidate’s name, contact details, age, date of birth, education and work experience information, information about particular skills, as well as any other personal information that candidates provide to us (such as details of referees) and which we need to provide our services. If you do not provide us with this information we are not able to progress your application.

Business contact information
This category of personal information includes contact details of Huxley Associates’ clients and suppliers. If you work for one of our corporate clients or suppliers, we may also collect "business contact" information about you.

The information we collect, use and disclose is used by us for the following purposes:

  • Matching candidate details to job opportunities by forwarding details of candidate’s skills and experience, to clients whom we feel may be interested in engaging a candidates services;
  • Keeping candidates informed of job opportunities and contract assignments which we think may be of interest;
  • Necessary processing during a contract assignment;
  • Keeping candidates informed of goods and services offered by us, our group companies or our business partners (including by mail, telephone, email and sms), relevant to your sector and your professional interests;
  • Business contact information to assist in managing our business and providing our services (e.g. for facilitating contact between our clients and candidates);
  • To inform both our clients and candidates of job opportunities training courses and marketing events and services that may be of interest to you;
  • We would like to send you relevant marketing communications. For example, information about our new training courses that may be of interest to you. If you do not want to receive these types of marketing communications please contact audit.data@huxley.com;
  • We may record telephone calls we have with you for record keeping, training or quality assurance purposes;
  • When you visit our web site our web server stores the IP address of your Internet Service Provider and the date and duration of your visit.
  • Please note that when your personal information is forwarded to one of our clients collect by Huxley Associates, the handling of that personal information will be governed by their own privacy policy and procedures.

By providing us with your personal information, we understand that you consent to the use of such information for the purposes listed above. However, if you have any requests concerning these uses of your information please contact audit.data@huxley.com.

Sensitive Information
Under Australian privacy laws, special rules apply to the collection of "sensitive" information which includes information about a person’s race, sexual preference, trade union membership or health. While Huxley Associates generally does not need to collect sensitive information, it is possible that it may need to in some contexts (e.g. to comply with immigration laws). If we need to collect sensitive information from you, we will seek your consent to such collection.

Sharing your information
We want to provide as full a service as possible and support candidates in the development of their careers. Therefore, the personal information we hold will be accessible by our related companies around the world, subject to strict security controls.

If your personal information is able to be accessed by a person located outside Australia, we shall take reasonable steps to ensure that the receiving party has adequate levels of privacy protections in place (which are consistent with the requirements under Australian law).

Huxley Associates will disclose personal information if it is under a legal requirement to do so (e.g. under a court order, or if required under legislation), or if an authorised request is made from a law enforcement agency. Otherwise, your personal information will not be forwarded to any parties outside our group (with the exception of our clients, our contractors/agents who process data on our behalf -such as reference checking agencies - and successors in title to our business) without your consent. Such third parties may use your data to send you information and marketing relevant to recruitment and your general professional interest.

Data quality
We rely on you to ensure that your information is complete, accurate and current. Please contact audit.data@huxley.com promptly of any changes to your information.

Data retention, access and correction policy
If no data activity such as updates or changes occur within 12 months then your information will be transferred from our operations database to a group company data store. If this is located outside Australia, we will ensure that the recipient complies with the security standards that are required under Australian privacy laws (as a minimum). On request, we will provide information in writing about your personal information stored by us although there are some exceptions to this. If you do not wish us to hold your information, you are entitled to tell us at any time and we will remove all such information from our database. You also have the right to ask us to correct information about you which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. If you use our website at http://www.huxley.com ("our website"), this privacy policy is to be read as forming part of the terms of use for our website.

We use cookies in order to prepare statistics of users’ preferences and to help you navigate the web site. Cookies are small text files that are temporarily stored on your local hard disc. Our cookies cannot run programs or bring viruses to your computer.
