Building relationships with candidates

Just because someone has the skills to complete your project, it doesn’t mean they’re the right fit for you. Tristan explains, “So many times we find candidates with outstanding technical skills who sadly we just can’t picture as the right cultural fit for an organisation. While other recruiters may instantly jump on a technical match, we understand the long term damage this could do, and take a much more considered approach.”

Getting the match right

While all employers value soft skills such as teamwork and communication, these skills can present themselves differently depending on the individual. Tristan explains, “I could find two candidates both with excellent leadership skills, however they could approach management from two completely different perspectives. While neither would necessarily be the ‘correct’ way, one approach could be much more suitable for the company I’m working with than the other. It’s this ability to make a thoughtful assessment of my candidates and apply that with an understanding of my client that has allowed me to make life long partnerships.”
