The importance of picking the right candidates

At Huxley, we understand that every business is unique - from your core values to your operating principles. We believe the key to delivering outstanding recruitment services is getting to know you.

Working in partnership with companies

As a business, we’re passionate about working in partnership with all of our clients. We don’t just source skilled people, we work closely with you to understand your business needs. When we work with companies, we’re not just committing to hiring professionals, we’re making a commitment to improve your business.

In order for us to find the best recruitment solution possible, it’s essential that we build trusting relationships with all businesses we work with. In recruitment, a “one size fits all” approach simply doesn’t work. We truly want to help businesses, and to achieve this, we need to understand the intricacies of your business.

Understanding your values

Before we can even think about finding candidates for you, it’s essential we have a deep knowledge of the functionality of your business. “Every business has a different set of values. As recruiters, we have to make sure that whoever’s coming into your business will share those ideals.” Tristan explains further, “Generally speaking, finding someone who can do the job is the easy part, but at Huxley, we want to create partnerships that last.” That’s why our consultants invest time in understanding the finer details of your organisation. Everything from the way your teams are set up to the environment you’ve established greatly impacts the type of candidates we’re looking for.

Following basic instructions from our clients is easy, but we think it’s important to go the extra mile. Putting our recruitment expertise to use means that we can advise you on a recruitment plan that truly benefits your business. Acquiring knowledge of your organisation allows us to make considered business critical decisions and produce a tailored strategy according to your needs.

Building relationships with candidates

Just because someone has the skills to complete your project, it doesn’t mean they’re the right fit for you. There’s a difference between finding someone who can do the job and someone who can do the job in a way that works for your business. We pride ourselves on building excellent relationships with all candidates we work with. It’s important for us to get to know the person behind the skills and work out if they’re the right fit for you.

Tristan explains, “So many times we find candidates with outstanding technical skills who sadly we just can’t picture as the right cultural fit for an organisation. While other recruiters may instantly jump on a technical match, we understand the long term damage this could do, and take a much more considered approach.”

Getting the match right

While all employers value soft skills such as teamwork and communication, these skills can present themselves differently depending on the individual. Tristan explains, “I could find two candidates both with excellent leadership skills, however they could approach management from two completely different perspectives. While neither would necessarily be the ‘correct’ way, one approach could be much more suitable for the company I’m working with than the other. It’s this ability to make a thoughtful assessment of my candidates and apply that with an understanding of my client that has allowed me to make life long partnerships.”

Creating effective partnerships that bring mutual benefit is what we do best. We work hard to find you a recruitment solution that isn’t just a quick fix. Contact one of our dedicated consultants today, to find a candidate who’s the right fit for your organisation.
