Gender balance and its challenges within IT in Dubai

The UAE is ranked one of the top 3 regions in the world to host the highest availability of scientists and engineers in the STEM market.

In addition to this, the region has been steadily developing a generation of Emirati women to help drive the economy.

With respect to the above, Huxley has conducted a survey across the IT sector to understand what are some of the diversity and inclusivity concerns as well as the challenges that the overall IT industry face. What was interesting was the common thread of challenges that the top three sectors (Cyber Security, ERP and DevOps) within IT faced, namely:

- Hiring the right talent within IT

- Lack of women representation within IT

- Men facing discrimination within IT
