Mechanical Design Engineer - Bristol (Permanent)

A local start-up business has reached out asking for our help to find them a Research and Development Engineer. To join a small but growing team leading the design and manufacture of specialist opto-mechanical products in Bristol, who plan to be world leading suppliers.

The company has a strong pipeline of new and future projects that a you could be apart of.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, building and testing prototypes
  • Responsible for building and installing the systems for the customers
  • Heavily involved in the research and development aspect
  • Owning the specification, design integration and delivery.
  • Liaising with software engineer, technical advisor and physicists


Experience required:

  • A good understanding of optics and optical systems
  • Opto-mechanical design experience
  • Measurement instrumentation experience
  • Prototyping experience
  • 3D CAD experience


Desired Experience (But not required)

  • Python and/or C++
