Systems Engineer - Control & Automation
Do you want to be just a piece of the puzzle, or the glue which holds everything together?
(Yes, people do glue puzzles..)
As a Systems Engineer you will be playing an integral part in the entire lifecycle of novel advancing technologies, in a role which really could not be more diverse. As well as frequent interaction with a broad range of international customers, you will be working across team boundaries internally including co-ordinating technical disciplines such as Control Systems, Power Systems, Electrical and Software.
What industry sector are they in? Please read in Morgan Freeman's voice - "The Earth is rich in natural resources. The mining of valuable and useful minerals and geological materials has been a human activity since pre-historic times, and modern electronics & green technologies are just as reliant on precious minerals today. Mining in the 21st century bears little resemblance to that which took place in times prior, and is now carried out in an increasingly safe and environmentally sound manner thanks to the development of new high-tech solutions."
You will work on projects right from the stage of understanding the customers technical requirements, through planning and scheduling new design activities, over to liaising with purchasing, shipping, suppliers and commissioning to ensure that the customer gets the working system they need, when they need it.
You'll be joining a team in Worcester of 6 people from quite varied backgrounds, with a huge opportunity for training and development in both technical areas and also methodologies such as Agile. You can expect 20-30% overseas travel, so a desire to get out and meet people is a must.
You will really get to leave your mark on the products which are developed and have the satisfaction of seeing things through from conception to completion and beyond. This is a job which can almost guarantee that you will never have a dull moment.
If you're from an electrical/electronics background and have some experience in relevant areas such as PLCs, Embedded C, software development, electro-hydraulics or industrial communications then this may be the role for you.
This position will offer a salary of £30,000 - £45,000 depending upon length and relevance of experience, plus excellent support including structured, individual talent development and both internal and external technical skills training.
