Technical Operations Manager
A leading engineering firm in the design, build and operation of Data Centres within the UK market is currently seeking a Technical Project Manager to play an integral role in the delivery and continuing operation of new-build and asset infrastructure lifecycle projects. Scope of work
As Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery and continuing operations and maintenance of new-build and asset infrastructure projects across two sites, taking each project from concept and design through to engineering, commissioning and operation. From this point, you will also be responsible for the management of the Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule, ensuring all assets are maintained in line with site budgets. This really is a full, project lifecycle role encompassing both construction and operational stages.
It is important that in this role as Project Manager, you ensure each new building and data centre meets the quality standards required as they transition from construction into live service. This is critical as you seek to deliver agreed service availability in-line with customer contractual obligations. You will also work closely with the company’s incumbent maintenance contractors and third party suppliers, ensuring a fully-managed, costed lifecycle management programme.
Working between their Hertfordshire and Hampshire facilities, this role will involve substantial travel between both sites as you oversee all technical projects, contributing as the technical authority on all M&E projects in planning and delivery, providing reports to operations in the process. It is important that you’re also able to ensure all operational changes are impacted and implemented in accordance with ITIL framework.
- Have experience in the delivery of technical engineering projects, encompassing heating and cooling applications. This could include various sectors such as Data Centres, Combined Heat & Power and District Heating.
- Possess a HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
- Be able to regularly commute between the Hertfordshire and Hampshire facilities
- Have a proven record working closely with engineering and operational teams providing technical support in order to deliver projects to plan.
- Be experienced in change management.

The company is paying a basic salary of £50,000-£55,000 with a very competitive package including a bonus, contributory pension, family healthcare and holiday of 25 days plus 8 stats.
