Huxley's Interview workshop with a local tech start-up

Huxley Singapore conducted an interview workshop with one of their clients last week. As a local tech start-up, it is one of Asia’s leading firm within the tech industry.

What was included in the workshop?

As their official recruitment partner, Huxley has offered to conduct an interview workshop for the team to allow them to understand the entire interview process better. As the start-up is a relatively young company, they are not aware of certain interview techniques which include creating a good impression for candidates throughout the interview process. This will leave interviewees feeling positive even after the interview, and will most likely be left a good impression for both interviewer and the company even if they subsequently do not get selected for the role.

These interview techniques can be very important as candidates are often those who spread good words (or bad) about a company, affecting the branding of a company in the quickest way one can imagine. As important as it sounds, this is often neglected by interviewers of the company.

Role-playing with behavioural based questions was one of the other activities during the workshop that allowed the start-up team to fully comprehend and apply what they have learnt from Huxley’s learning and development manager.

In addition, Mark O’Halloran, Senior Business Manager of the team in Singapore shared about some of his experiences on the multiple interviews he has conducted. He was able to quote actual examples and could relate to some of the experiences and questions asked by the team from the local tech start-up.

What did Huxley think about the workshop?

Koh Jing How, Senior Consultant at Huxley who has partnered closely with the tech start-up shared, “I’m really glad that we were able to offer a great value-add to our clients especially start-ups who might not have a learning and development department to conduct focused trainings. This is a good example of how we are able to make use of our resources to help our clients in their recruitment process, including the provision of a consultancy service rather than merely finding them the right candidate for their organisation. We are proud to be their recruitment partner for their expansion plans in Singapore and are looking forward to this continued partnership.”

If you would like to find out more about how we may be able to assist you in your recruitment plans, or if you’re a start-up who wish to partner for similar workshops, please feel free to contact the Huxley team at via the form below or follow our LinkedIn page for more industry related updates.
