A scientific applications provider in the Brighton area is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to join their growing team thanks to huge demand for their unique products. This former start-up company has received wide press and media coverage and have already broken records during their R&D phase. They have now moved on to the widespread commercialisation of their technology and this Controls Systems Engineer role will play a key part in the scaling-up of their operations.
The Controls Systems Engineer will get to work on all project stages from design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to design and integrate software components into a brand new production line. You will define and specify the overall control system requirements, engage with potential suppliers, source suitable equipment, liaise with external systems integrators and may be involved in the programming of the system also.
To be successful in applying for this position your experience should include:
- SCADA/DCS knowledge
- Working experience with Process & instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Single line Diagrams and electrical Schematics
- Knowledge of PLCs
- Capability with higher-level programming languages such as VB.NET, C++ or SQL would be desirable
- Understanding of industrial communications such as Fieldbus is beneficial
