Controls Manager

There is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a well-established successful business as a Controls Manager. The company specialises in the manufacture of hi-tech industrial machines. They supply to a wide range of industries in particular manufacturers of automotive and aerospace components. The products are manufactured at their site in Bristol and are distributed worldwide. The company is a medium-size business which is part of a much larger global group. As a Controls Manager (hardware) you would be responsible for efficient and effective management in all aspects of controls hardware design from concept to completion and to provide technical direction to the company as well as supporting, mentoring and managing staff. You will be responsible for organising your own time and the time of others, integrating within the team and providing excellent service to their customers. This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to move into a management role, or for an experienced manager to take over an established team fulfilling challenging projects.

Required Experience

  • Advanced controls engineering knowledge with strong understanding of controls hardware such as drives, motors, controllers etc.
  • Experience with PLCs and HMIs - design, development and programming
  • Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs would be beneficial, but not essential
  • Prior management or supervisory experience could be advantageous
